Travel Essentials

I don't often get to travel except for the occasional overnight here and there. When I do get the chance at a real vacation, packing beauty products is often difficult. For those of you who follow my Instagram here will know that I love using numerous products in my daily skincare routine. When it comes to packing all of those beloved products, the thought process often flare the anxiety. But I have quickly learned the best ways to pack smart! Here are some of my tips on how to bring all the essential when you are home away from home.

First...Sunscreen is the most important part of my beauty routine. People also ask me what my beauty secrets are for looking so young and without hesitation I always reply sunscreen! Sunscreen is your best defense against aging. When traveling, I do not bring samples, mini's or decants because I use at least a half teaspoon of sunscreen just on my face alone.  I apply sunscreen everywhere...face, neck, ears, décolleté, upper shoulders.  I have found that bringing a full size is the better way to travel.

Cleansers:
Traveling with liquids is a hassle these days so I would definitely bring something more travel friendly. Tosowoong's Enzyme Powder cleanser is ideal because it's a powder and a little goes a long way. It's also a fantastic cleanser! Another travel friendly cleanser is the Su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick. This is a solid cleansing stick and works great and smells so good.

In place of an oil cleanser to remove sunscreen and makeup, I pack a few samples like The History of Whoo Cream Cleanser. This is a great first cleansing option that is more travel friendly than oil cleansers.

Toners or Mists:
I opt for packing a full size mist like the Sulwhasoo Hydo-Aid Moisturizing Mist. I will use this in place of a toner and throughout the day to rehydrate my skin. I cannot leave the house without a mist in my bag! For those of you who like to pack a toner, sample size mini's like the Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Water is another great option.

Essence, Ampoule, Emulsion/Lotion, Sleeping Pack:
Samples or mini's are great options to pack for traveling because you can bring so many different types of products to meet your skin care needs. Traveling can be stressful, especially on the skin. I never know what "mood"my skin will be in so I like to have options.

Sheet Masks:
Sheet masks are essential and are so beneficial for air travel as the skin can become easily dehydrated. My skin gets dehydrated just on road trips so sheet masks can help restore that moisture loss and help protect the moisture barrier. Please remember that if you decide to sheet mask on the plan, close the window shade. You do not want any sun exposure on skin that is not protected with SPF.

Makeup:
My stance on traveling and makeup is less is best! I don't tend to bring a ton of makeup and I pack makeup that serves more than one purpose. Products that can multi task are the way to go. I love bringing a cushion foundation because it works at evening out skin tone, can cover spots, acts as a concealer and provides extra SPF. I also love the Lip and Cheek Stain from 100% Pure because it is so versatile. And I never forget lip balm. I am addicted to lip balms and have several that I use throughout the day. My currently favorite is the Portland Bee Balm in peppermint.

Hair and Body:
Hotel bar soaps can dry out my skin like a desert, so I always bring my own. Either a mini bar soap like Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap or a few samples of body wash. The same goes for hair products. I don't dare use the hotel's complimentary shampoo and conditioner. I bring samples or decants. My favorite AB hair care line is Ryo. It's absolutely amazing. I cannot rave more about their products. I honestly don't wash my hair that often, maybe 2-3 times per week. Instead of washing, I use a dry shampoo. My favorite is the One Love Organics Healthy Locks. It smells like a tropical adult beverage, works fantastic and actually strengthens my hair.

So these are my travel essentials and some tips and tricks for traveling. I hope you found this post helpful and as always, thanks for reading and supporting my blog!

Stay Beautiful ❤️
