Review: Swanicoco 2GF Bio Mix Mask Pack

I do not often get excited over a sheet mask but after I tested the Swanicoco 2GF Bio Mix Mask, I knew I had to write a full review. Swanicoco has quickly become one of my favorite skin care brands because they make extremely effective and well formulated products that show visible results. This hydrogel sheet mask is no exception, hence the need for a full blog post review.

About the brand:
This is a naturally based, fermented centered brand that includes Korean traditional medicine in each of their products. The brand began creating fermented soaps and has grown into a full range brand including both skin care and makeup. They believe in naturally derived ingredients, excluding chemically or artificially based ingredients. Every product is free of artificial dyes and fragrances plus each product is paraben, mineral oil and alcohol free. They include organically based ingredients whenever possible and of course they never test on animals.

The Claim:
This mask claims to moisturize and nourish the skin while increasing elasticity and building collagen.

To start, I like to begin all reviews with stating my skin type and concerns. I also like to mention YRMV, a basic disclaimer. My skin type during this time of the year (spring) is combination. My skin can be quite sensitive, temperamental and acne prone. However, with the incorporation of Curology treatment and more recently, Differin seen here, my skin seems to be less prone to breakouts but more prone to dehydration and flakey skin. My review will reflect on how this product works for my personal skin type and condition but as always, your results may vary (YRMV).

Patch Testing:

Every product I use goes through a very detailed patch testing period. I always patch test and I recommend patch testing to everyone. Although there is an argument out there that patch testing doesn't actually work seen here on The Beauty Brains, patch testing has saved my skin from some pretty serious negative reactions. Although I do agree with TBB (and love this pod cast btw) that patch testing does not work against evaluating whether a certain product will cause breakouts, patch testing will help determine if your skin is allergic to the ingredients. The types of negative reactions that can be seen are in the form of itching/stinging, intense flushing, burning, rash or hives.

Due to the nature of sheet masks, it is very difficult to patch test because once you open the package, you ned to use the product as quickly as possible. I have only had a few occasions when a sheet mask caused my skin to negatively react but that was a few out of the hundreds I have used over the past few years.

Full Ingredients:

Notable ingredients include the Noble Prize winning EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) peptide rh-Oligopeptide-1 that helps to strengthen and repair the skin. This also contains FGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor) peptide rh-Polypeptide – 11 that enhances skin density, building collagen and strengthen the skins' structure. Together, EGF and FGF are a power house, helping to visibly improve skin elasticity, provide intense nourishment and hydration plus protecting the skin by strengthening the moisture barrier.

Some other skin loving ingredients include hyaluronic acid, adenosine (wrinkle fighter), an amino acid complex (improves moisture levels in the skin), methionine (cell regenerator), honey, green tea, aloe as well as a plethora of potent plant and roots extracts that provide antioxidant protection.

Two other noteworthy ingredients include platinum and ginsenoside. Platinum, a popular ingredient used in the ultra expensive brand La Prairie, has shown to improve the texture and clarity of the skin. Ginsenoside has some fantastic research studies showing it to be effective at brightening, building collagen, hydrating plus it is an anti-inflammatory.

Formula, Texture and Scent:
This is a bio-cellulose mask that has a great fit and adhered very well onto my skin. In fact, the fibers of this mask actually lightly tighten as you wear it, giving the skin a lifting effect. This mask had no noticeable scent and was saturated in a very thick, elegant essence that although a thick jelly consistence, it was not at all sticky or tacky.

Overall:
This mask is fantastic! Besides all of the amazing, skin loving, high performing ingredients noted above, this mask left my skin feeling tighter and firm (in a good way), more transculent and even toned, smooth, plump, moisturized and dismissed any redness. I also loved how cool this made my skin feel and that cooling sensation lasted hours after removing. I used this mask in the morning, kept it on for 20-25n minutes and I must say, my skin looked so good! I got so many compliments on how my skin looked plus my cushion foundation went on so smooth. My skin definitely had a glow. Although expensive, this mask is well worth the splurge, especially before a special occasion when you want to look your absolute best. I will be reviewing more products from Swanicoco in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
