Leaders Mask Review

A huge portion of my daily skin care is incorporating sheet masks into my routine. Sheet masks are the very first Asian beauty product that I had ever used, but I quickly fell in love using masks because they offer so much in skin care benefits. My very first mask was the My Beauty Diary Black Pearl, a Taiwanese brand and then i tried a Japanese brand mask from Kracie. When used regularly, sheet masks keep my skin supple and hydrated and my skin care products just work better.

Today I want to review a few masks from Leaders, a popular Korean beauty brand that I have been using for over 10 years. My skin is combination to normal, sensitive and acne-prone this time of year so my reviews on the following sheet masks are based on my skin type and condition.

The Claim:
Each of these sheet masks have different claims so I will break down each masks:

Patch Testing:
Although every product I use normally goes through a very detailed patch testing period, I do not patch test sheet masks mostly because it's time consuming and I can get lazy. If you want to patch test sheets masks (if you have super sensitive skin I recommend it) you can cut a small opening in the sheet mask package and squeezing out a little of the essence to patch test. If you decide to do this, make sure you close the package and place it in the refrigerator to use within 24 hours.

Collagen Boosting Renewal Mask:

If you don't follow me on Instagram, you should, because I don't normally review masks on my blog but I have a soft spot for Leaders and wanted to do an in-depth review here. This mask offers a great fit, had a very light fresh scent and this lasted almost an hour. The sheet itself was a soft, thin texture that felt comfortable and adhered to the skin. After removing, my skin was bouncy and plump. My face felt comfortable and hydrated. There was only a little of left over essence, so I just used it on my neck and chest. The essence was on the tacky side, but dried fine. Although my skin was hydrated and plump, there wasn't a big wow factor....no significant short term results. However, any anti-aging benefits don't give many short term effects. You would need to use this mask regularly to see any long-term, anti-aging results. If you are looking for plumping, this is a mask for you and I would recommend this before a big event. Notable ingredients include collagen, sugar maple, a tripeptide, hyaluronate plus a bunch of antioxidant rich extracts such as saururus chinensis which is a anti-inflammatory.

Moisturizing Recovery Mask:

This is a hydro gel mask made of fermented coconut gel. This contains some pretty impressive ingredients include chamomile, sugar maple, adenosine, arnica plus a bunch of antioxidant rich extracts such as saururus chinensis (also an anti-inflammatory). Plus, this contains some traditional Chinese medicinal roots and extracts. This mask offered a great fit, had a soft fresh scent (sort of like fresh linen and coconut had a baby) and this lasted almost an hour. My skin was so plump, felt bouncy and was very hydrated after removal. There was even enough left-over essence for a facial massage using my jade roller. I also can't get over how bright and translucent my skin looked after! The only negative is the price ($7) and the essence felt a little sticky. I put my normal skincare over the top and it wasn't an huge issue, but thought I'd mention it. A very solid mask, but I have a soft spot for hydrogels because my skin just loves this mask types.

Illuminating Treatment Mask:

As you can see from the picture, I used this mask when my skin was pretty darn red and irritated and I am happy to report that this mask really helped to even out my skin tone. Chamomile is one of the first ingredients that I attribute to helping calm my skin down. Portulaca Oleracea Extract is also high on the ingredient list and which also helps even out the skin tone. Other notable ingredients is niacinamide, sugar maple, hyaluronate and a mixture of wonderful anti-oxidant rich extracts. Again, much like the Collagen mask above, aside from evening out my skin tone and decreasing some redness, I didn't see any other wow factors. I do prefer this mask over the Collagen Boosting because brightening, whitening and evening out my skin tone is my number one  priority.

Overall:
As I mentioned earlier, I have used Leaders masks for many, many years and it is a very solid mask brand. I have used so many Leaders mask and you honestly can't go wrong, but I do have my favorites. I love their hydrogel's and their amino masks best, but I have heard great things about many other mask flavors. If you are looking for high performing masks that have solid, high quality ingredients then you gotta check out Leaders! These masks are also available at Ulta Stores.

Stay Beautiful ❤️

  1. Besides just making you feel a little better massages can lower stress, improve circulation, speed the recovery of sore muscles, and boost your immune system. A massage should definitely be more than just something you do every once and a while to pamper yourself. 파주 출장안마
