Current Lip Balm Stash

I freely admit that I am a lip balm addict! I have been obsessed with Burt's Bee's, both the Honey and the Original balm for years. However, back in 2007 Burt's Bees was sold to Clorox for millions! It is hard to imagine this small little company grew to be a million dollar business only to sell out to one of the largest corporations here in the US. It is very sad because the integrity of Burt's Bees was once of good character, doing what is right for the environment and the consumers. I do not buy anymore Burt's Bees products because I will not support a company that continues to pollute the environment and tests on animals! How cruel!

Ok, so stepping off my soap box, here is the review!

Although I will not purchase Burt's Bees products, I have several lip balms still unused. I will be using them up and moving away from this brand. However, the Honey and Original lip balms are fantastic. I especially love the Honey as it is thicker without the heavy waxy feel and hydrates so well. Too bad :( But I have found better options that work even better!!

Another disappointment is Badger's Cool Mint Cocoa Butter Lip balm. I love minty lip balms because of the cooling sensation on my lips. I love that tingle :) This lip balm is organic and contains great emollients to hydrate and soften lips. I also love the amount of product you get for the money! However, I did not care for this lip balm as it was too heavy and felt very waxy on my lips. I also did not like that it did not give me that intense minty tingle. Plus it broke me out on the skin right around my actually lips. I woke up with tiny white ends :( Gross!

I purchased Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm and sent one to my bestie in California for Christmas plus I got one for myself to try as I have read great reviews. This is a very rich lip balm that is perfect for night time! I find it to heavy for the day but at night, I smear on a generous layer and wake up to soft lips. My issue with this lip balm is the container! It's very unhygienic in a jar container! I used a tiny spatula to get the product out which is a pain in the butt! I do not think I will repurchase again due to the container style and the price! It does smell amazing but the ingredients is another reason I will not repurchase! Nuxe, like many other lines that claim to be natural are not natural at all! If you want more information about "Greenwashing" please let me know and I can do a full post on this topic!

Next up is Portland Bee Balm made right here in beautiful Portland Oregon!! I love buying local and supporting small businesses. This business has amazing integrity and creates an excellent organic handmade lip balm. I have the mint type and LOVE it! It gives my lips that minty tingly that I adore and it smells divine! It only contains natural ingredients and hydrates my lips so well without feeling heavy or waxy! A+++

Last but certainly not least is Rachel's Plan Bee lip balm!! Rachel was so kind and sent me some products to test out and review including this incredible lip balm. Again, I have the mint one and love that tingle plus is hydrates SO well. I have noticed that when I use this, my lips seem moist even a few hours after it wears off. That tells me that this truly does stink into the skin! This also smells freakin' amazing!! The price is perfect in my opinion and again, I love supporting small businesses! Rachel and her son are truly an inspiring story that touches my heart. A++++

What are you favorites lip balms??
