Mekhala Living Product Reviews + Giveaway

Last October, the lovely and beautiful Yuming sent me three products from Mekhala Living to try and review.  First, let me give you some information about the brand.... It's pronounced (Meh Keh Lah).

Mekhala's vision is to create wholesome living and wellness products that are free of artificial flavors, colors, chemicals, fragrances and preservatives.  They are also cruelty free and when possible, use only certified organic ingredients  :)  They use only indigenous herbs and spices and natural essential oils for their beneficial qualities.  The ingredients are also based on a traditional method and principles of mindfulness and healthfulness. This is a company from Singapore...

From the website: "We are in the simple business of creating a better life. We do this through our high quality products - for the body, for eating, and for the home, which are made to please all your senses."

Ok, so on to the reviews....
This is an amazing shampoo that promotes hair growth and improves blood circulation in the scalp for healthier, stronger hair.  It also protects the hair from damage and oxidation with powerful anthocyanin antioxidants.  This is free of parabens, sulphates, SLS. Contains aloe vera and vitamin E.  This is suitable for normal/thinning or color treated hair.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Black Rice Seed, Kaffir Lime Oil, Aloe Vera, Moke Flower Extract, Natural Glycerin, Soapnut Tree Extract

First, let me start by saying WOW! This is an amazing shampoo that really improved the overall health of my hair and scalp.  It cleansed my hair throughly without leaving it feeling like straw! Since using this product, I haven't had the itchy dry scalp I normally get through the cold winter months.  This also gave a nice rich and creamy foamy suds (hate shampoo's that don't foam even a little!!) The only thing I do not like about this products is the smell! To westerns like myself, it's a very odd smell....to those in the Asian culture you wouldn't think twice :) It has a very fermented rice smell that is somewhat strong! However, I did get used to the smell but I wanted to warn you!

This is a deeply replenishing, highly moisturizing conditioner! This is free of parabens, sulphates, SLS and artificial chemicals. Contains aloe vera and vitamin E.  This is suitable for normal/thinning or problem scalp.

Again, aside from the highly fermented scent this is a fantastic conditioner!!  This has saved my scalp as it keeps it super hydrated.  I usually have a pretty tight, dry scalp that gets itchy! It especially gets uncomfortable in the winter time but I didn't have one issue with my scalp while using this product! This also was amazing for my hair too! It was super soft, smooth and shiny! This did not weight my hair down at all but was extremely repairing! My hair just looked and felt better, it was much healthier :)  Also, do you know how you put conditioner on your hair and then you go to rinse and the conditioner all rinses out and the bottom of the shower is slippery!! This didn't do that! You put it on and it penetrates!! Very little rinsed out....no slippery shower :) That to me indicates that this actually does penetrate into the hair shaft and not just coat the hair!

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Black Rice and Whole Grain Rice Extracts, Moringa Oil, Vitamin E, Vegetable Glycerin, Jasmine Rice Extract

This is a anti aging body lotion that contains coconut and moringa oil to hydrate and improve skins elasticity.  Also free of parabens and chemicals!

I have extremely dry skin from the neck down and go through bottles and tubs of body butters and lotions so I have tried a lot of different brands out there! I will say that this lotion is extremely hydrating and my skin looks and feels better after using it! It is thicker than a milky lotion, thinner than a body butter but moisturizes better than my thickest cream! It is not sticky and absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling smooth.  Out of the three products this one has the best smell overall!

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Black Rice, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Moringa Oil, Vitamin E, Natural Glycerine, Jasmine Rice Extract, Frangipani Extract

Final Thoughts!

I must admit that I have tried so many natural/organic hair care products without having much luck.  I also don't use drugstore hair care products often as I find the same result.  So needless to say I am a high end, salon hair care snob! However, after using these two hair care products I have had a change of heart.  These are simply fantastic, high quality, good for you ingredients that really do deliver on their promises! They actually penetrate and make the hair healthy and shiny! My only negative is the smell but like I said I got used to it :)

So I understand that for many of you out there getting these products to try is rather difficult! So I am giving away 2 sets of all three products!!! WOOHOO right :-)
